Loving Our Neighbours

Gateway Baptist Church is showing love to our neighbours in tangible ways throughout the city, region and around the world. Join us in our local and global efforts to change the world, one life at a time.  If you’re interested in serving locally, we have many great opportunities for you to make an impact close to home. Impacting the community around us is one of the greatest things we can do as a church family. Gateway Baptist Church is committed to doing our part in making Darwin a better place to live for everyone. As we change for the better, each day we have the opportunity to spread that change through service projects that touch the very neighbourhoods we occupy.

Outreach

Evangelism and Soul Winning are a major part of our heart for Darwin. The definition of Evangelism is “telling the good news” that Jesus Christ can save you from sin and hell and give you forgiveness of sins and eternal life in heaven.  God has left us here to spread the gospel or “good news” – Romans 10:13-15 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

We are committed to growth here at Gateway Baptist Church because:

• God loves people and wants all men to repent and be saved – 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” ; 1 Timothy 2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
• God commands us to reach out to the lost – Luke 14:23 “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
• Growth is God’s will – Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Each week many of our members participate in volunteer community outreach throughout the Greater Darwin area. We accomplish this through many ministries.  From letter boxing, inviting friends and co-workers along to church, witnessing, or even making balloon animals for children at the local markets, Gateway is always looking for new ways to share the Gospel with others and show the love of Christ in a real way.
